How did we translate character personas into visual language?
Dương’s name means "sun". In the early sequences, we intentionally placed him in bright, soft lighting while keeping Mai in the shadows. Using a shallow depth of field, we pulled focus straight to their emotional dynamic, adding subtle key lights around Dương to visually anchor him as one who brings hope and joy in Mai’s darkest time.
This symbolism also carries into the environment design. You’ll catch sunflowers appearing in a few pivotal shots as a quiet symbol of their love inspired directly by Dương’s name.
